Create a custom workspace

You can customize the workspace, and save it so that you can easily switch between different arrangements of windows and panels. You can save as many custom workspaces as you want, for example, each optimized for different tasks.

  1. Arrange the current workspace to your liking. For example, open windows and panels, dock or undock them, and move or resize them.
  2. If desired, select Windows > Workspaces > [Current Layout] > to associate the workspace with a menu set, hotkey set, or viewport preset. See Workspace layout options.
  3. Select Windows > Workspaces > Save Current Workspace As (or Save Current Workspace As from the Workspace drop-down) and enter a name.

Custom workspaces appear in alphabetical order at the top of the list in the Workspace selector on the right of the menu bar, as well as in the Windows > Workspaces menu.

You can delete a custom workspace by selecting Windows > Workspaces > Delete Current Workspace (or Delete Current Workspace from the Workspace drop-down).
Note: You cannot delete the default Workspaces.
