Rivet

The Rivet command gives you an easy way to create locators that attach directly to a deforming mesh, just by selecting a face, point, or UV in their scene.

These nodes are especially useful for tasks like adding a prop to a character, such as sticking a button on a shirt, or attaching a medal to a uniform. See Create a Rivet for instruction on how to use a Rivet to attach locators to geometry.

The Rivet command quickly creates a uvPin node, which offers more control in the initial setup. When a Rivet is created, a uvPin node appears in the Node Editor. The following illustration shows a Rivet and its corresponding nodes in the Node Editor. The single uvPin node can represent multiple nodes, letting you modify this "Primary node" on the fly.
