The
Average Vertices () command smooths your mesh while maintaining its polygon count. It averages the values of existing vertices to produce a smoother surface without modifying the current topology.
To smooth by moving vertices
- Select the mesh or the vertices you want to smooth.

Tip: You can smooth repeatedly by pressing the ‘g’ hotkey to repeat the last action.
- In the
In-View Editor that appears, adjust the polyAverageVertex node attributes.
Note: The
Average command is similar to the smooth feature in
Autodesk 3ds Max, which works by averaging existing components.
