Fields/Solvers menu

For the Create, Volume and Connect options of the Field/Solvers menu, see Fields menu.

Solvers

Connect to Time
Reconnects the Current Time to the scene time for simulated objects in your scene such as Soft Bodies, nParticles, and nCloth.
Initial State submenu
Lets you specify how the initial state (or start position) of an nCloth or nParticle object is set.

See Initial State submenu for options.

Interactive Playback
Plays back your Nucleus object simulations in Interactive Playback mode. The Interactive Playback mode lets you interact with the objects in your scene and see the simulation update as you playback. For example, you can shake an passive object with jiggle applied to it to view how it affects its nCloth.
Note: When using Interactive Playback, playback looping is disabled.

Nucleus

Assign Solver

Assigns the selected Nucleus object to a Maya® Nucleus™ solver. The Maya Nucleus solver calculates Nucleus object simulations (nCloth, nParticle, Soft Body, and nHair objects). For Nucleus objects to interact, they need to share the same Maya Nucleus solver.

Select a solver from the submenu (existing nucleus solvers are listed), or select New Solver to create a new Maya Nucleus solver.

Legacy Rigid Bodies

These options display by default, but can be hidden by setting the MAYA_ENABLE_LEGACY_RIGID_BODIES environment variable to 0.

For information about the Legacy Rigid Bodies menu items, see Maya Classic Dynamics.
