Set up an optimization analysis as you would a standard analysis. Optionally, define optimization criteria, then select the optimization analysis and run.
1.Create a new project, or open an existing one.
1.Click
Import from the Quick Access toolbar, and import a CAD model.
1.Click
(Mesh tab > Mesh panel > Generate Mesh) and generate a mesh on your model.
1.Click
(Home tab > Molding Process Setup panel), and select a molding process.
1.Click
(Home tab > Molding Process Setup panel > Analysis Sequence), and select an analysis sequence.
1.Click
(Home tab > Molding Process Setup panel > Select Material), and select a material for analysis.
1.Click
(Home tab > Molding Process Setup panel > Injection Location), and set an injection location on your model
1.Click
(Home tab > Molding Process Setup panel > Process Settings), and enter the processing conditions for analysis.
1.Select the Optimization Criteria tab, and define optimization criteria, if appropriate.
1.Click
(Geometry tab > Modify panel > Modify CAD Surfaces), and define CAD modifications you are interested in, if appropriate.
**Note**: CAD modifications can be incorporated into a Parametric Study, but not a DOE analysis.1.Click
(Home tab > Molding Process Setup panel > Optimization), and select an optimization analysis from the list of options.
1.Specify the experiment type, the Variables, and the Criteria, and review the Options tab.
**Note**: To retain the results of an analysis for further investigation, select **Keep result files** from the **Options** tab.1.Click Finish
1.Click
(Home tab > Analysis panel > Analyze) to launch the analysis.
