Tutorial B2: Set Up and Run the Analysis

1. In the tree view, right-click on Constraints and choose New.
2. Rename the constraint to Fixed Beams.
3. Select the lines to fix, as shown in the figure below.

   

4. Be sure that Subcase 1 is selected in the Subcases list.
5. Leave all the defaults in the Constraint dialog.

   

6. Click OK to create the fixed constraint.
7. Right-click on Loads and choose New.
8. Rename the load to Gravity Load.
9. Select Gravity for Type. Type -386.4 in the Fy field under Magnitude.

   

10. Click OK to create the load.

    

11. In the tree view, right-click on Analysis 1 and select Edit.
12. Check Force for Output Sets under Element Output Control.

    

13. Click OK.
14. Save the model.
15. Right-click on Analysis 1 and select Solve in Nastran.
