To create a damping, right-click on Dampings in the Model tree and select New to open the window below.
- Name: Enter the name of the damping in this field.
- ID: The ID of the damping is automatically updated by Inventor Nastran.
- Structural Damping: Applies structural based damping to transient analysis.
- Rayleigh Damping: It represents the special case where we choose to form the damping matrix from a linear combination of mass and stiffness matrices.
- Modal Damping: Applies modal based damping to transient analysis.
