To choose a post-processor option file for an NC program

An option file is read by a post-processor so that the NC output can be run on a CNC machine.

When writing an NC program, you choose from option files stored locally on your PC . The default directory is specified using File tab > Options > Customise Path.

  1. In the NC Program dialog, next to the Machine Option File box, click to display the Select Option File dialog.
  2. Choose the option file from the list.
Tip: If the file is not in the list, click to find and choose the file. Several example option files are available in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Manufacturing Post Processor Utility\Generic\.
  3. Click Accept.
Note: The ability to select and manage option filles stored in the cloud (known as Posts in the Cloud) has been retired.
