You can cut shapes into solids based on wireframe objects, for example to create holes, pockets or designs in a solid model.
To create holes and pockets in the plate:
- Click Home tab > Selection panel > All Wireframes to select all the remaining wireframe.
- Press and hold the Ctrl key and click the two composite curves, as shown below:
The composite curves are deselected.
- Click Solid tab > Feature panel > Cut.
The Solid Cut dialog is displayed:
- From the Type drop-down list, click Through.
Preview graphics are drawn on the model:
- Click Apply.
- Press and hold the Ctrl key and click the composite curves as shown below:
- Click Add the currently selected sketch button.
- From the Type drop-down list, click Blind.
- Enter a Depth of 0.5.
- Click OK.
Pockets have been cut into the solid:
- Click in an empty space in the graphics window to deselect the model.
