Create a Revolve Form

Create a revolve form from a line and a 2D profile that share a work plane.

The line in the revolve defines the axis around which the shape is revolved to create the 3D form.

  1. Draw a line on a work plane.
  2. Draw a closed profile on the same work plane next to the line.
    Note: You can create a surface revolve using lines that do not form a closed loop.
  3. Select the line and the closed profile.
  4. Click Modify | Lines tab Form panel (Create Form).
  5. (Optional) To open a revolve, select the outside edge of the revolve profile.
    Tip: Use X-Ray mode to help identify the edge.
  6. Drag the orange control arrow to a new position.
