Convert a design model with Revit MEP elements to an MEP fabrication model with LOD 400 MEP fabrication parts.
This video demonstrates the following:
Use the Design to Fabrication tool to convert a design model with Revit MEP elements to a fabrication model with LOD 400 fabrication parts.
Before you can convert a design model, you must specify a fabrication configuration and load services in the Revit model. Click the Fabrication Settings button. The fabrication configuration and services contain fabrication content and associated data sourced from the Autodesk Fabrication products.
Next, select a run of design parts. You can convert selected parts or an entire duct or pipe network. Start the Design to Fabrication tool.
Select the desired fabrication service. The fabrication service defines the content to use when converting generic Revit elements to fabrication parts.
Review the converted run and determine where adjustments are needed.
To close a gap that was created during the conversion, use Route and Fill. Select a solution and click Finish.
The Design to Fabrication tool provides a more efficient workflow than redrawing the model with fabrication parts. The converted run is created based on the design line algorithm and parts used by the Autodesk Fabrication products.
