Reinforcement Rounding

Allow numerical rounding of rebar lengths to simplify organization and annotation when tagging, filtering, or scheduling rebar.

Access the settings on the Reinforcement Settings dialog.

Specify values for Bar length and Bar segment length for Structural Rebar. You can also specify Fabric Sheet dimension values for Structural Fabric Reinforcement.
Name Description
Use reinforcement rounding

When selected, calculated bar lengths, bar segment lengths, and fabric sheet dimensions are rounded.

When cleared, calculated bar lengths, bar segment lengths, and fabric sheet dimensions display their exact values.

Rounding method Specifies the direction for number rounding.

Nearest: Rounds to the nearest rounding increment (up or down). For example, 3.72 becomes 4, and 3.42 becomes 3.

Up: Rounds to the next higher Rounding increment. For example, both 3.72 and 3.42 become 4.

Down: Rounds to the previous lesser Rounding increment. For example, both 3.72 and 3.42 become 3.

Rounding Specifies one of several preset rounding increments. To enter an unlisted value in the Rounding increment field, select Custom.
Rounding increment Displays the current rounding increment. To specify an increment, select Custom in the Rounding drop menu.
Note: Units are inherited from the Project Units setting. However, reinforcement rounding overrides Project Units rounding settings for rebar instances.

Rounding values defined in the Reinforcement Settings dialog are propagated to the Rebar Type Properties and the Rebar Instance Properties dialogs. Rebar length displayed in the Properties palette displays in a dual format: exact length and rounded length in brackets. You can manually override these values for the bar type and the bar instance by editing the exact length properties.
