Modify a Structural Connection

Change parameters, geometry, analysis information, and other modifications specific to connections.

  1. Select an instance of the connection to be modified.
  2. Click Modify | Structural Connections tab Properties panel (Type Properties).

    OR

    Click (Edit Type) in the Properties palette.

  3. In the Type Properties dialog, click the Edit button next to Modify Parameters in the Type Parameters list Construction.
  4. The Edit Connection Type dialog opens. Adjust the connection settings and click OK to apply the changes.
  5. Click Apply in the Type Properties dialog to apply the changes and OK to exit.

To change a specific instance of a steel connection type:

  1. Select an instance of the connection to be modified.
  2. Check the Override by Instance parameter in the Properties palette.
  3. The Detailed Parameters Edit button will become available, as well as the (Modify Parameters) ribbon command in the Modify | Structural Connections tab Connection panel.
  4. Use any of the two options described at step 3 to access the specific connection settings dialog and make changes.

Change the Ranges of Applicability of a Steel Connection Type

  1. Select an instance of the connection to be modified.
  2. Click Modify | Structural Connections tab Properties panel (Type Properties).

    OR

    Click (Edit Type) in the Properties palette.

  1. In the Type Properties dialog, click the Edit button next to Modify Ranges of applicability in the Type Parameters list, under Construction.
  2. The Edit connection ranges of applicability dialog opens. Add, change, or remove rules and click OK to apply the changes.
  3. Click Apply in the Type Properties dialog to apply the changes and OK to exit the dialog.
Note: The ranges of applicability are only usable when placing [multiple] connections automatically. See Use Dynamo Player for Placing Steel Connections with Ranges of Applicability.
