In the Menu Bar, click Edit > Preferences, then on the left side of the dialog box, select Import > PLM XML.
This section determines which file-specific options are enabled during import.
Toggles the import of reference files on or off. When enabled, reference files are import into VRED. This is enabled by default, as it is required then working with assemblies.
