Add a Member to the Access Control List (ACL)

Add a member to the ACL for a file, folder, item, or custom object.

Note: Items and custom objects are available in Vault Professional.
  1. Right-click a file, folder, item, or custom object in the vault and select Details.
  2. In the Details dialog, select the Security tab.
  3. Select the Override security check box to enable the Access Control List associated with the object and manually edit access permissions.
Note: If the Override security check box is selected but no permission changes are made, the system assumes that the user wants to create a new security access control list with the same settings.
  4. Click Add to add a new member.
  5. In the Add Members dialog box, select the users or groups to assign to the current file, folder, item, or custom object.
  6. Select the drop-down arrow in the Read, Modify, Delete, and Download column for that user or group and select whether to Allow or Deny that type of permission. Select (Blank) if you want the user to have that permission provided the user is not explicitly denied rights based on state or folder security.
  7. Click OK.
