You can manually synchronize properties on files associated with items.
By default, item properties are written back to the associated file from Vault add-ins, Vault Explorer, and the Job Processor.
Item properties take precedence over file properties and file mappings. If the file's properties are edited and properties are synchronized, the item properties will overwrite the file properties.
Note: Editing and saving a property may also result in an item property being written back to a File.
Important: The
Write Item properties back to the file check box on the
Items tab must be selected for item properties to be written back to a file.
Synchronize Associated File Properties
- In the Item Master, select the item for which you want to synchronize file properties.
- Select the General tab in the preview if it is not already selected.
- Right-click on the Associated Files section and select Synchronize Properties.
Item properties are written back to the associated file.
