This tool groups several options for copying and moving objects.
Access the Advanced Copy Command
In the Tools tool palette, click
(Advanced copy).
Command line: _ASTransformAndConnect
Copy an object at a defined distance
- Select the objects to copy.
- In the Tools tool palette, click
(Advanced copy).
- In the
Transform elements dialog box select Copy.
- In the top-left panel of the dialog box enter the displacement in each direction.
- Enter the number of copies.
Move objects using two points
- Select the objects to move.
- In the Tools tool palette, click
(Advanced copy).
- In the
Transform elements dialog box select Move .
- In the top-left panel of the dialog box click
. The dialog box temporarily closes.
- Specify the base point.
- Specify the end point.
The selected objects are moved to the location determined by the direction and the distance between the two points.
Move objects using a displacement
- Select the objects to move.
- In the Tools tool palette, click
(Advanced copy).
- In the
Transform elements dialog box select Move.
- In the top-left panel of the dialog box, enter the displacements on each direction.
The selected objects are moved to a new location determined by the relative coordinate values you enter.
Mirror objects in 2D
- Select the objects to mirror.
- In the Tools tool palette, click
(Advanced copy).
- In the
Transform elements dialog box select Mirror.
- In the top-right panel of the dialog box, select 2D.
- Click
to define the mirror line. The dialog box temporarily closes.
- Click the first point of the mirror line.
- Click the second point of the mirror line.
- In the Transform elements dialog box select Delete source objects if you want to erase the source objects.
Mirror objects in 3D
- Select the objects to mirror.
- In the Tools tool palette, click
(Advanced copy).
- In the
Transform elements dialog box select Mirror .
- In the top-right panel of the dialog box, select 3D.
- Click
to define the mirroring plane. The dialog box temporarily closes.
- Click three points defining the mirroring plane.
- In the Transform elements dialog box select Delete source objects if you want to erase the source objects.
Rotate objects in 2D
- Select the objects to rotate.
- In the Tools tool palette, click
(Advanced copy).
- In the
Transform elements dialog box select Rotate.
- In the top-right panel of the dialog box, select 2D.
- Click
to define the rotation center and angle. The dialog box temporarily closes.
- Specify the rotation center using the mouse or by coordinates.
- Enter the rotation angle.
- In the Transform elements dialog box select Delete source objects if you want to erase the source objects.
Rotate objects in 3D
- Select the objects to rotate.
- In the Tools tool palette, click
(Advanced copy).
- In the
Transform elements dialog box select Rotate .
- In the top-right panel of the dialog box, select 3D.
- Click
to define the rotation axis and angle. The dialog box temporarily closes.
- Specify the first point of the rotation axis.
- Specify the second point of the rotation axis.
- Enter the rotation angle.
- In the Transform elements dialog box select Delete source objects if you want to erase the source objects.
