Use this dialog to define additional parameters for fire design.
Access
- Select Fire design in the Member Definitions - Parameters dialog, and then click Fire.
Dialog elements
Note: The program use the rules from paragraph 16 of the code to perform the fire calculations.
- Required fire endurance
- Specify the minimum time of exposure to fire required for the member.
- By default, the minimum time of exposure is one hour.
- Protection of section sides
- Specify which sides of the member are protected against fire.

- Continuous protection of space between parts of double section
- Specify if the space between two parts of section is closed.

Note: When the space between two parts of section is closed, the internal sides of the section are protected, and only the external faces are exposed to fire.
- Fire retardant factor
- Specify if the material is a pressure impregnated fire retardant treated wood.
- Enter a value for the Fire Retardant factor to specify the reduction in compression, bending, shear, and deflection resistance of wood treated with fire-retardant chemicals.
