Use this dialog box to import one or more subassemblies from a package file to a tool palette or catalogue.
If you have a package file that contains one or more subassemblies, you can import the subassembly or subassemblies to an Autodesk Civil 3D tool palette or catalogue.
Source File
Specifies the name and location of the package file (.pkt) containing one or more subassemblies.

Opens the Select File dialog box where you can navigate to the package file (.pkt) containing the subassembly or subassemblies to be imported.
- Link Directly to .PKT Files
- When this box is ticked, the PKT files are linked to directly in their existing location, such as a LAN or Autodesk Docs. By ticking this box, the PKT files will use their existing path and will not be imported into the Program Data folder. This allows you to keep the subassemblies in one location for all users. For more information, see To Work With Shared PKT Files and Update them in a Drawing.
When this tick box is cleared, the PKT files are imported into the C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D <version>\eng\Subassemblies folder by default.
Note: This setting only applies to PKT files created with the Subassembly Composer. It does not apply to PKT files created using .NET or VBA that are included in a package file.
Import To
You can import subassemblies to a tool palette, to a catalogue or to both locations at the same time.
- Tool Palette

When this option is selected, the subassemblies will be imported to the selected tool palette. Select a tool palette by clicking the drop-down arrow. The name of the currently open tool palette is displayed (selected) by default.
- Catalogue Library/My Imported Tools

When this option is selected, the subassembly or subassemblies contained in the package file will be imported to the My Imported Tools catalogue in the catalogue library. If the My Imported Tools catalogue does not exist, it will be automatically created.
