About Assemblies That Support Superelevation Axis of Rotation Pivot Points

Build assemblies for common carriageway types that support superelevation axis of rotation pivot points.

Autodesk Civil 3D ships with a variety of lane subassemblies. The LaneSuperelevationAOR is the only stock lane subassembly that fully supports the axis of rotation pivot points. This section explains only the superelevation parameters for the LaneSuperelevationAOR subassembly. It does not describe the behavior of the other potential subassemblies.

When you build an assembly, the following parameters must be set in a particular manner:

When building a dual crowned carriageway, the following parameters must also be set in a particular manner:

See LaneSuperelevationAOR for a description of the values that are available for each of these parameters.

Note: Do not include an offset in an assembly that will be used with superelevation axis of rotation. The axis of rotation calculation will not run on an assembly that contains an offset.
Note: The subassemblies that ship with Autodesk Civil 3D vary in their ability to support superelevation axis of rotation. Subassemblies that use superelevation contain a Superelevation Axis of Rotation output parameter, which causes a warning to be issued when the LaneSuperelevationAOR subassembly is attached to it.
