Process a Beam With Another element - Rule

A straight or a curved beam is processed through the geometry of another beam or plate. The processing is based on a rule. The object contour creates a cope at a straight or curved beam.

There are two options for cutting the beam:

Process a beam with another element
  1. From the Features tool palette, select (Element contour - rule).
  2. Select a beam to modify at a reference end and press <Enter>.
  3. Select an object to use for the cut (a beam or a plate) and press <Enter>.

The contour processing is created. The properties dialog box appears.

Create an exact cross section contour
  1. From the Features tool palette, select (Element contour - rule).
  2. Select a beam to modify at a reference end and press <Enter>.
  3. Select an object to use for the cut (a beam or a plate) and press <Enter>.
    • The contour processing is created. The properties dialog box appears.
  4. On the Parameters tab, from the Contour shape drop-down list, select Exact.
  5. Deselect the Mounting cope option.
  6. Additionally, you can modify the corner cut shape and size and create a weld between the two elements.
