FAQ: Why does the matrix column displays data instead of the matrix symbol?

The matrix column formatted for a property may show data values instead of the matrix symbol.

If the property specified in the column can have multiple values, you need to add columns to the matrix format to accommodate all possible values. For example, in a finish schedule in which walls may be assigned one of four finishes, you need to enter a number greater than three for Max Columns to create a column for each finish. When you then create a table from the style, the matrix symbol appears in the finish column for the finish value entered in the property data for the walls of each space.
