A 2D Simulation is automatically run when a simulation is carried out on a network that contains at least one 2D Zone in the network.
The 2D engine used for InfoWorks and SWMM simulations is based on the 2D model MULFLOOD(Mulet & Alcrudo unstructured flood solver. All rights reserved. Designed by Francisco Alcrudo Sanchez and Jónatan Mulet-Martí.) and the procedures described in Alcrudo and Mulet-Marti (2005). See the Basic 2D Hydraulic Theory topic for further details.
See Creating 2D Meshes for information on setting up 2D Zones for 2D simulations.
See the Runs topic for full details on setting up and running simulations.
The simulation information specific to a 2D simulation can be edited via the Schedule Hydraulic Run View (InfoWorks).
Click the 2D Parameters button on the dialog to view and edit 2D Parameters.
Drag an Initial Conditions 2D object into the run dialog to set initial values for level, depth and velocity within each 2D Zone.
Note: if the network used in the simulation contains 2D Zones and 2D IC Zones that do not have entries in the Initial Conditions 2D object, the following default initial values will be used:

2D results can also be exported to CSV file. See the Exporting Results to Files topic for more information.
