Form Designer: Assign Help Files to Forms

You can assign Help files to each form and each control. The Help file and topic are displayed when the user presses F1 and the cursor is not on a control.

You can also assign a Help topic to each control. This topic is displayed when the user presses F1 while the cursor is on that control.

1. In the Infrastructure Administrator, do one of the following:
   • Click Enterprise and connect to the enterprise industry model. Open a project.
   • Click File and open an industry model drawing or template.
2. Expand the Industry Model node and click Form Designer.

   The form designer is displayed in the right pane. The topics and feature classes are displayed in the form explorer.

3. In the form explorer, select a feature class, select the Form Type, such as Default, and click Edit.
4. In the Form Designer dialog box, click Designer menu > Options.

5. In the Options dialog box, in the Help section, enter the properties, as for example:

   File Name: myhelp.chm

   Context: form_designer_introduction.htm

6. To assign a Help topic to a control, select the control and edit the Control properties.
7. After editing the properties, enter the Help file name and Help context again.
