To Work With Display Maps

Each map file can contain multiple display maps. Each one has its own set of layers, which are styled independently.

To create multiple display maps

  1. Connect to the data stores to include in the various maps.

You can attach drawings and connect to geospatial feature sources.

  2. Create a new display map in the Display Manager by clicking MapsNew.
  3. Type a name for the new map in the New Display Map dialog box.
  4. If desired, specify a different background color.

You can change the name or background color later by clicking MapsProperties in the Display Manager.

To copy layers from other display maps

  1. Switch to the display map containing the layer you want by choosing its name in the Display Map box at the top of Display Manager.
  2. Right-click the layer and click Copy.
  3. Switch to the target display map.
  4. Right-click a blank area in the Display Manager and choose Paste.
  5. Style each layer in the new display map.
