The Bake Deformer tool has been revisited to improve performance and use less memory.
The new Bake Deformation progress bar
Previously, the Bake Deformer tool solved skin weighting by using complex matrices that made the process very slow. Now, with the latest changes the bake process is faster and uses substantially less memory to perform calculations, significantly speeding up the process.
Further, the deformation process is now shown on the Help Line, so you can track the progress of the deformation: Gathering sample poses, Determining influences, or Solving for weights. Pressing Escape cancels the process at any stage.
Other improvements to the
Bake Deformer tool include:
- Full undo support
- An insufficient memory warning to let you know when the process cannot be completed
