Base setter reference

Applies to 2024.0 Update and later

Description Text that remains visible when the action is collapsed in the script view
Outer offset Distance by which the source contour area is extended to form the setter's contour
Inner offset Distance by which the source contour area is extended from inner contours to form the setter's contour
  • Only when Fill inner contour is inactive
Maximum height Any point of the setter mesh is generated only up to this height from the build platform.
  • On generation, this is still limited to model's highest point.
Taper angle Makes the setter's walls oblique.
  • Always in addition to source contour plus offset
  • Negative values produce taper towards the platform.
Bounding shape Specifies the source contour to derive the setter contour from
  • Silhouette: Cumulative part shadow
  • Rectangle: part bounding box
Fill inner contour Any internal contours may be regarded or ignored as part shadow
Pattern The setter's volume may be fully solid or have an outer wall around an open pattern of either a grid of holes in various shapes or a grid of cylindrical columns in a hexagonal grid.
  • Solid
  • Rectangular
  • Hexagonal
  • Circular
  • Columns
Cell size Hole width or column diameter
Pattern wall thickness Thickness of walls between holes or gap between columns
Perimeter wall thickness Thickness measured from the fixed generated contour towards the medial axis of the supported contour area
Polygon corner Edge count for the patterned filling
  • Circular and Columns only
Gap Space between original part surface and setter's generated mating surface
  • Use negative values to generate intersection with the model.
Tolerance Fineness of setter's generated mating surface
  • Smaller values follow the part surface closer but require more triangles
Z overlap If over the stretch of permitted setter height the original model becomes narrower again, the setter's mating surface may either follow it or remain at the last maximum width
  • Keep: Mating surface follows +Z taper
  • Discard: Mating surface contour remains at last maximum XY expansion
