Simulating the roughing toolpath

To view a simulation of the toolpath

1. Click View tab > Views panel > ISO > ISO 1 to reset the view.
2. Click Simulation tab > ViewMill panel > Off. It turns green and changes to On.
3. Click Simulation tab > Simulation path panel > Entity and select the toolpath you want to simulate.

   The associated tool is selected automatically, and the Simulation Controls are highlighted:

   

4. For the best visual representation of material being removed by different toolpaths, for example roughing and rest roughing, click:
   • Simulation tab > ViewMill panel > Mode > Fixed direction.
   • Simulation tab > ViewMill panel > Shading > Rainbow.

   Mode menu and Simulation tab > ViewMill panel > Shading menu control the display of the simulation.

5. To start the simulation, click Simulation tab > Simulation Controls panel > Play. Allow the simulation to run through to the end.
