Parameters of Adjoining Members of Varying Inertia

Use this option to define parameters of the main member and the adjoining members of varying inertia. Access the option by clicking the Parameter button found in the Adjoining Member Parameters dialog (with one, three or six adjoining members). The following dialog diplays:

A substitute moment of inertia of the main member as well as of the adjoining members is defined as the member minimal moment of inertia, the average moment or inertia or a percentage of the maximal moment of inertia.

In the lower part of the dialog there are options that determine the cross-section from which the equivalent stiffness is adopted; the distance of that cross-section from the beginning of the member is defined (a real or relative value of the distance).
