You use the Duct Conversion Settings or Pipe Conversion Settings dialog to specify parameters that control the elevations, pipe or duct size, and other characteristics for the piping or ductwork created when using the Layout Path tool.
Conversion settings specify the parameters used by routing solutions for both Main and Branch systems.
Note: The Pipe Conversion Settings are also available from the Settings button on the Options Bar when using Generate Layout to create a routing solution for your system’s piping.
- In the left panel of the Mechanical settings dialog, expand Pipe Settings, and click Conversion.
- In the right panel, select a system classification (Hydronic Supply and Return, Sanitary, Domestic Hot and Cold Water, Fire Protection, and Other systems).
- Under Main, specify default parameters for the main piping in each system classification.
- Pipe Type: specifies the type of pipe to use for the selected System Classification.
- Offset: specifies the height of pipe above the current level. You can enter an offset value or select from a list of remembered offset values.
- Under Branch, specify default parameters for the branch piping in each system classification.
- Pipe Type: specifies the type of pipe to use for the selected System Classification.
