Overview: Modeling a P&ID in Revit

This topic provides an overview of what you'll need to do in order to model a P&ID (piping and instrumentation drawing) in Revit.

When you model a P&ID in Revit, you'll do the following:

• Understand what is a Plant Collaboration project
• Open a Plant Collaboration project in Revit
• Select lines and P&IDs
• Model new components and map to existing components
• Validate the model, to determine what's been modeled/not modeled, locate disconnects/ignored parts, and handle additional parts
• Map P&ID content to Revit content
