Use the inline parts tab to map model element instances to new components when using the Change Service and Design to Fabrication tools.
Family based, inline components may be mapped to desired fabrication parts from the selected service. By default, the family is mapped to itself, resulting in no replacement.
The Part Types setting of a family is used to determine which parts are similar. For example, end cap families may be mapped to fabrication endcap patterns, and inline pipe accessories may be mapped to fabrication valves.
The mappings are cached during the current session for each service in the model.
This allows the same family (such as a generic ball valve) to be replaced with a more specific component in each service.
The last used settings for each service will automatically re-populate, allowing you to work on various services as you convert and coordinate a model.
