Summary: Eliminate additional checking for rotor surfaces that do not touch a static part.
Flag
SkipRotorExpansion A
A = 1 (on): Prevents searching for exposed rotor surfaces.
A = 0 (off, default): Uses standard rotating region surface accounting
Description
During setup, Autodesk® CFD indentifies the rotor-stator periphery nodes. These nodes are shared by rotating and non-rotating materials. This process identifies the nodes where the stator regions touch the rotor. Autodesk® CFD needs to identify the rotor nodes that could touch the stator nodes as the rotor rotates. This process is called “Rotor Expansion”.
When the stator coverage is 360 degrees, there is no need for Rotor Expansion and this flag can be used to save CPU time. Also, there have been a few cases where errors in the CAD model cause the rotor surface to become ill-defined if Rotor Expansion is allowed to occur. This flag prevents that from occurring.
