File Transfer tab

The File Transfer tab of the Preferences dialog box contains the following options. You can use them to control how files are managed between the local workstation and the Autodesk storage service.

OptionExplanation
File transfer chunk size in MBs

Default = 5 MB

The Simulation Compute Manager divides job files into finite pieces called chunks. Use this option to increase or decrease the size of these chunks.

Increase the size if you have a very fast network with high bandwidth. Decrease the size if your network is not as fast or if you are experiencing bandwidth issues.

Note: In the event of a failed transfer, because of a network interruption or workstation reboot, Simulation Compute Manager restarts from the last completed data chunk.
Maximum number of concurrent up loads

Default = 0 = no limit.

Use this option to limit how many jobs are transferred to the Autodesk storage service at the same time.

This is useful if you experience network or bandwidth limitations while launching many concurrent jobs.

Maximum number of concurrent down loads

Default = 0 = no limit.

Use this option to limit how many jobs are transferred from the Autodesk® storage service to the local workstation at the same time.

This is useful if you experience network or bandwidth limitations while launching many concurrent jobs.

File transfer temporary folder

Specifies a folder on the local workstation in which the Simulation Compute Manager stores temporary files during file transfers. Change this location if you experience disk space limitations or would rather place the temporary files elsewhere.
