Click AnalysisAnalysis Types. The Analysis Types dialog opens.
Select a static load case, and then click Parameters. The Static Analysis Parameters dialog opens.
Specify the type of nonlinear analysis that you want to perform:
P-Delta takes into account second-order effects such as the change of bending rigidity depending on the longitudinal forces, and the influence of the structure deformation on the final equilibrium state.
Large displacements takes into account second-order and third-order effects such as the additional lateral rigidity resulting from deformation, and the influence of bending on the element elongation.
Note: If you want to ignore the selected case during the calculations, select Auxiliary case.
In this case, the analysis results are not available for auxiliary cases, or for combinations including this case. However, the results of nonlinear combinations which include auxiliary cases are available.
Click Nonlinear analysis Parameters, and then specify the analysis method and parameters in the Nonlinear Analysis Algorithm Options dialog.
Click OK twice to go back to the Analysis Type dialog. The analysis type is updated for the selected load case.
Tip: To set up parameters for a selection of load cases, enter a list of cases in the Case list box, and then click Set parameters.
