Import Raw RINEX Data Files

Import the satellite data to be processed by PPK Survey for Civil 3D. The files representing base and rover data are occupation (*.??o) and navigation (*.??n) files.

  1. In the Raw RINEX Data Files Information section, click Add Files .
  2. In the Open dialog box, browse to the RINEX files.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • Manually select files and click Open.
    • Drag and drop folders that contain RINEX files onto the Raw RINEX Data Files Information field and click Cancel to close the dialog box.

The Raw RINEX Data Files Information grid displays the imported file information.

About Autonomous Base Units

An autonomous base unit allows a local receiver setup over a point that is unknown while in the field. It processes and produces a coordinate which can be reviewed and compared at a later time. When a receiver role is assigned as Autonomous Base Receiver, you will be prompted to provide information about the receivers position when processing begins in PPK for Civil 3D. A dialog opens displaying the following calculated position data for the base:
  • Northing, Easting, and Elevation
  • Latitude, Longitude, and Height
  • ECEF X, ECEF Y, and ECEF Z
The position data is a comparison to a known coordinate from an available monument sheet. To continue processing, you must select one of the following options:
  • Accept position and continue. Populates the computed position into the autonomous base coordinate and then continues processing the rover data.
  • Update autonomous base position. Populates the computed position into the autonomous base and then changes the receiver role to Base. Rover data processing stops. This allows the unit to be used as a base while in the active working session, forgoing extended autonomous processing on subsequent process runs.
  • Cancel. Stops all processing, allowing for further receiver input.

While using an autonomous base is not a common workflow, working with autonomous base data and a relevant CORS station may enhance local data collection with minimal effort.
