3ds Max has a new Menu Editor as part of its new menu customization system.
The new Menu Editor allows you to easily customize 3ds Max menus and quad menus. The editor lets you add, rename or remove menu and quad menu items, create new separators and sub-menus, well as re-order menus.
3ds Max has a completely updated menu system, and you can now save your customized menu configurations and use them in future versions when you upgrade.
The Menu Editor also offers a Developer Mode, which enables third party developers to create menus and quad menus for their plug-ins. The .mnx and .qmnx files created in this mode can be added to plug-in packages.
The updated menu system also includes new MAXScript and C++ exposure for third party developers to use in their plug-ins, and support for localizable menu entries in the <lang-code>/CUI/ folder. See the What's New topics in the MAXScript Help and Developer's Guide for more information on these new classes and interfaces.
