About the Blocks Palette

Use the Blocks palette to access and insert blocks defined in the current drawing.

You can also insert recently used blocks, favorite blocks, and blocks from libraries by opening the Blocks palette to the corresponding tab. The illustration below shows all four tabs.

Note: Blocks associated with dimension and multileader styles are included automatically when you create dimensions and multileaders, so they're not displayed in the ribbon gallery or the Blocks palette.
Note: The name of an external file that's inserted as a block includes an asterisk (*) in the Blocks palette.

You can insert a block from one of these tabs with several methods:

Notice the placement options at the bottom of the Blocks palette. These options can save you multiple steps such as repeatedly placing a block.

Tip: To optimize your drawing area, dock the Blocks palette to either side of your application window and turn on Auto-hide from its title bar.
