Lines up linear, ordinate or angular dimensions, with a dimension you select as the baseline.

Summary

The dimensions you select for aligning must be of the same type.

Note:
  • If the dimension to align have dimension lines inside and outside the extension lines, and the dimension lines and arrowheads overlap, do not use AMDIMALIGN. Adjust the dimensions individually.
  • AMDIMALIGN does not recognize extension line suppression.

List of Prompts

The following prompts are displayed.

Select base dimension
Specifies a dimension to use as the base dimension for the align operation. You can select a linear, ordinate, or angular dimension.
Select linear dimensions to align
Specifies a set of linear dimensions to line up with the base dimension. You can only select dimensions that are parallel to the base dimension.
Select angular dimensions to align
Specifies a set of angular dimensions to line up with the base dimension. You can only select dimensions that measure angles about the same vertex as the base demission.
Select ordinate dimensions to align
Specifies a set of ordinate dimensions to line up with the base dimension. You can only select a set of ordinate dimensions whose extension lines are parallel to the base dimension.
