To Break Dimension Lines (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

1. Click Annotate tabDimension panel drop-downBreak. Find
2. Select the dimension line or extension line to break (1).
3. Press ENTER.

Note: The break is associative. When you move the geometry or a dimension, the gap moves. When you delete the geometry or a dimension the program deletes the gap.
