Tags objects to be arrayed when content is inserted in a drawing.

Summary

When the content is inserted in a drawing, AutoCAD Mechanical toolset creates copies of the marked objects in a regularly spaced rectangular or polar array. No copying takes place in the content editor.

Select objects

Marks the objects to be arrayed.

Rectangular
Creates copies of the selected objects as an array of rows and columns.
  • Number of rows - Specifies a meaningful name for this array parameter (instead of array_row1) and the default number of rows for the array. Insert the “=” sign after the name. Then specify the number of rows.
  • Number of columns - Specifies a meaningful name for this array parameter (instead of array_column1) and the default number of columns for the array. Insert the “=” sign after the name. Then specify the number of columns.
  • Distance between rows - Specifies a meaningful name for this array parameter (instead of array_row_dist1) and the default gap between rows. Insert the “=” sign after the name. Then specify the gap. To add rows downward, specify a negative value.
  • Distance between columns - Specifies a meaningful name for this array parameter (instead of array_column_dist1) and the default gap between columns. Insert the “=” sign after the name. Then specify the gap.
  • Array icon location - Specifies a location to place an icon that represents the array.
Polar
Creates copies of the selected objects uniformly around a specified center point.
  • Center point of array - Creates an array defined by a center point.
  • Base Point - Specifies a new reference (base) point relative to the selected objects that will remain at a constant distance from the center point of the array as the objects are arrayed.
  • Number of items in array - Specifies a meaningful name for this array parameter (instead of array_item1) and the default number of copies to create. Insert the “=” sign after the name. Then specify the number of copies to create.
  • Angle to fill - Specify a meaningful name for this array parameter (instead of array_angle1) and the value for the fill angle. Insert the “=” sign after the name. Then specify the fill angle.
  • Rotate arrayed objects - Specify that the arrayed objects are to be rotated.
  • Array icon location - Specifies a location to place an icon that represents the array.

Remove objects

Removes objects from the set marked for arraying.
