  • Layer names - Performs a wild card search on names and lists the matching layers and layer definitions. For example, if you only want to display layers that start with the letters GEAR, enter GEAR*.
Make
Creates a layer from a layer definition and makes it current.
  • Layer name - Specifies the layer to create. If you specify the name of an existing layer definition, a layer by that name is created, using the properties defined in the layer definition. You can precede the name of the layer definition with the name of a layer group (“Group1-AM_5”,for example) so that an instance of the layer is created on that layer group. If you enter the name of an existing layer, that layer is made the current layer.
Set
Specifies a new current layer but does not create the layer if it does not exist. If the layer exists but is turned off, it is turned on and made current. A frozen layer cannot be made current.
New
Creates a layer from a layer definition.
  • Layer name - Specifies the layer to create. You can specify multiple layer definition names, separating each name with a comma. You can precede the name of the layer definition with the name of a layer group (“Group1-AM_5”,for example) so that an instance of the layer is created on that layer group.
