Taper and Slope Settings Dialog Box (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

Use the Taper and Slope Settings dialog box to configure the default settings of taper and slope symbols for the active standard.

Revision

Displays the name and revision of the drafting standard on which the symbol is based.

Preferred dimension type

Defines whether the calculated slope/taper rates are expressed as a percentage or a ratio, by default.

Format

Defines the format in which ratios are expressed.

Separator

Defines the ratio separator to use in the ratio format. You can use alphanumeric characters, including spaces. If you do not specify a separator, the AMTAPERSYM command uses the colon character (:) as the separator.

Leader

Arrowhead

Specifies the default leader arrowhead type for taper and slope symbols.

Note: If you select the arrowhead type labelled "By NameOfStandard", the arrowhead type is linked to the leader arrowhead setting of the master settings of the drafting standard. If the master setting change, the arrowhead type setting for taper and slope symbols change accordingly.

Arrow size

Specifies the default leader arrowhead size for taper and slope symbols.

Note: If you select the size labelled "By NameOfStandard", the arrow size is linked to the arrow setting of the master settings of the drafting standard. If the master setting change, the arrow size value for taper and slope symbols change accordingly.

Color

Specifies the default leader color for taper and slope symbols.

Note: If you select the color labelled "By NameOfStandard", the arrowhead color is linked to the leader color setting of the master settings of the drafting standard. If the master setting change, the color setting for taper and slope symbols change accordingly.

Text

Height

Specifies the text height for symbol text. When the height is set to ByNameOfCurrentDraftingStandard, it acquires the text height from the master settings of the current drafting standard. If the master setting changes, the text height of all taper/slope symbols based on the current drafting standard change automatically.

If the current standard is a custom standard , you can specify a non-standard text height. If not, the AutoCAD Mechanical toolset restricts you to selecting a value from the list.

Color

Specifies the default color for the symbol text of taper and slope symbols. If the text height changes, the color automatically changes to the default color corresponding to that text height. Text object colors are set from the Object Property Settings dialog box.

Note: If you select the color labelled "By NameOfStandard", the text color is linked to the text color setting in the master settings of the drafting standard. If the master setting change, the text color setting for taper and slope symbols change accordingly.

Restore Defaults

Returns all values to the default values for the drafting standard.
