Use the Shaft dialog box to specify a standard size for a profile. The Profile option inserts sectional profiles as shaft segments. Depending on the installed standard systems and the type of profile selected, different dialog boxes for specifying the geometrical values are displayed.
Standard Size
Represent standard sizes for the selected profile type.
Drag d
Use the button to determine the diameter by dynamic dragging in the drawing.
Length l=
Enter a value for the profile length or select the Measure option on the context menu to determine the length by specifying two points in the drawing.
Modified Design
Opens a dialog box to construct each profile to your own needs.
Standard
Opens Profile dialog box.
Note:
- All splined shafts contain a standard list with information of teeth n (with DIN ISO 14, DIN 5464), inner diameter d, outer diameter D, and spline width B (not with DIN ISO 14, DIN 5464).
- For DIN ISO 14, you have to decide from which set the sectional profile will be taken. The light set and the middle set are available.
- To designate the splined shaft segment correctly, enter the tolerance fields for the corresponding diameters. The preset values are the recommended DIN values.
- The serrated shaft profile (according to DIN 5481) can be selected in standard sizes from the standard list. The inner reference diameter -d and outer reference diameter -D diameters are only nominal and do not correspond to the accurate inner/outer diameters; they are only for selection from the database.
- The involute tooth profile (according to DIN 5480) offers a selection of even more exact designations of nominal sizes. These designations contain the reference diameter d, the module m, the pressure angle a, and the tooth number z.
- The polygonal profiles P3G and P4C can be selected according to the nominal diameter. Profile P3G corresponds to uniform diameters, profile P4C it corresponds to the outer diameter.
- To display the sectional profile segment correctly with regard to the other sections, you can draw the section rotated.
- The options diameter and length are only available for the two-sided wrench. If no value is entered in the Nominal diameter d field, an appropriate diameter from the database is attached to the width. After selecting a value in this field, this value is taken into consideration, in that it must be larger than the wrench opening.
