Summary
When a component view or folder is activated, AutoCAD Mechanical toolset displays the Edit panel on the Structure tab to display the operations that can be performed. Any editing action you perform affects the definition of the component view or folder.
Note:
You can also activate the edit target (a component view, folder, or annotation view) by:
Double-clicking it in the mechanical browser. (You can reset activation by double- clicking a blank area in the browser).
Right-clicking it and selecting Activate from the shortcut menu.
On activation, the active occurrence becomes visible, if appropriate. All visibility overrides that hide the active occurrence are suppressed.
If an external reference folder or component is selected for activation, the external reference drawing file is locked and subsequent changes are written back to the external file. If the external reference file is in use and AutoCAD Mechanical toolset is unable to lock it, a message is displayed.
If the file containing the external reference component view or folder is not loaded, activation is not allowed.
If you have overridden properties on an instance, they are suppressed when you activate the instance, including property overrides below it in the browser tree.
