Pattern Type

Selects the type of pattern to use.

 

Pattern

Shows a palette of preview images of the selected hatch pattern.

 

Preview window

Shows a preview image of the selected hatch pattern.

 

Pattern types

Specifies the pattern type. Types of patterns are User-defined, Custom, and Predefined.

 

Pattern Properties

Modifies the properties of the selected hatch pattern.

Pattern

Lists available hatch patterns for the selected pattern type.

 

Custom Pattern

Specifies a predefined pattern in the acad.pat file or a custom pattern in its own PAT file.

 

Scale

Expands or contracts a predefined or custom pattern. AutoCAD stores the scale in the HPSCALE system variable. This option is available only if you set the pattern type to Predefined or Custom.

 

Angle

Specifies the angle for the hatch pattern in relation to the X axis of the current UCS. AutoCAD stores the angle in the HPANG system variable.

Spacing

Specifies the spacing of lines in a user-defined pattern. AutoCAD stores the spacing in the HPSPACE system variable. This option is available only if you set the pattern to User-defined.

Offset

Shifts a hatch pattern in relation to an adjacent hatch.

Double

Draws lines at 90-degree angles to the original.

Calculate Boundary

Calculates the new boundaries of a hatch area when editing.

Adapt hatch distance at less than 5 hatchlines

Specifies the number of hatch lines that the program draws when the area to hatch is very small. The availability of this option depends on the setting in the configuration. The number of hatching lines is 5 by default.
