To Create a Block Part Reference for a User-Defined BOM Item (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

How to create a Part Reference from a user-defined BOM item and attach it to a block reference.

1. Click Annotate tabBOM panelBOM. Find
2. At the command prompt, enter M.
3. In the BOM dialog box, click in the row containing the user-defined item.
4. In the toolbar (of the BOM dialog box), click . The BOM dialog box hides.
5. At the command prompt, enter B to select the Block option.
6. In the drawing area, click the block reference to create the Part Reference for.
   Note:

   • If the user-defined row indicates a quantity greater than 1, the program applies a quantity override to the Part Reference to match. Consequently, the quantity in the Part Reference is the same as the quantity in the BOM.
   • If the block has an attribute with the same name as a component property, the program assigns the block attribute data to the component property. However if the component property in the BOM already contains data, the program ignores the block attribute data.
