Exercise 1: Create a map

Create a map file.

To create a map file

1. Create a map using the map2d.dwt template.
2. Assign a coordinate system to the new map.
   • Switch the Task pane to Map Explorer.
   • Right-click the Current Drawing entry and click Coordinate System.
   • Specify the CA-I coordinate system.
     

     Set the coordinate system for a new map from Map Explorer.

3. Save your file.
