The Point Sources tab enables you to measure a feature using the probed points from other items in the inspection sequence. For example, you can use the tab to measure a cylinder, cone, or sphere by combining the measurements from two or more probed circles.
To use point sources to measure an item:
- Open the item dialog.
- Select the Point sources tab.
- In the Available sources list, select the items that contain the points you want to use to measure this feature, then click
to move them to the Selected sources list.The number of source items you selected is displayed next to the tab name.
You can view the measured points for this item using the Geometric Item Points dialog, or the Report and Info tabs.
Note: Only points
included for fitting in the source items are used as point sources.
