By default, the Probe coordinates and Triggered probe coordinates are measured relative to the home position of the measuring device. To specify a different origin, use the controls to the right of the Probe coordinates display.
To specify the zero position for an axis using a trigger point:
The probe position is displayed in the Triggered probe coordinates box, with the selected axis showing the probe radius value (as the displayed coordinates are probe centre).
To specify the probe centre as the zero position for an axis:
The axis value in the Probe coordinates box changes to zero to indicate the probe is at the zero point, and the Triggered probe coordinates box automatically updates the coordinates of the last triggered point for the new zero position.
To set an offset value for the zero position of an axis:
For example, if the origin of the Z axis is located within the part, you can specify the zero position for the axis by triggering the zero point 10 mm above the origin and then entering an offset of 10.
The Probe coordinates and the Triggered probe coordinates are updated for the new offset value. You do not need to zero the axis again.
